I cam here for lunch, it was towards the end of the lunch sitting, i ordered a eye fillet steak. I ordered blue. It was cooked nicely, i also ordered the prawns ontop. They where a little undercook which i quiet like that way there not to chewy. The steak was a little over cooked for my blue. However inknow doing a blue steak is not easy, the veggies where cooked to perfection a crunk a little on the under cooked which in my view is way better then over cooked. The mash was a little dry, Its more on the pricey side. I did watch the cheef take out the smokey meet from the bbq, bext time ill try that! The gaming rooms pays out. This is a quiey pub during lunch times cant wait to go back

Great tavern, nice and clean freshly painted and new decor in the rooms. Room service was prompt even during peak time. Meals were nice and generous.

Tawhana was our manager tonight and demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth. He provided efficient, attentive service and was always ready to assist where needed. His welcoming manner greatly enhanced our dining experience and made the evening truly enjoyable.

Stopped her for a quick drink and ended up playing the dart machine. The venue is clean, staff are friendly. The menu looked tasty in the Bistro. I noticed that they also had a courtesy bus too “Boon Bus”. Will come back to try the food.

We had the duck spring rolls for an entree (came out so quick within approx 10 mins) these were delicious and tasted fresh! My husband doesn’t usually like trying new foods and likes to sick to the basic proteins but he loved these! Our main came out nice a fast also before even finishing our entree. All tasted fresh. Ordered the steak with prawns, and a chicken parmy . Steak was cooked perfect to a medium rare as requested. Both meals were delicious. A beautiful outdoor area with plenty of space and seats with a kids playground area, indoor ping pong table for the kids. Featuring its large offset smoker which is pretty cool. Loved that the tables weren’t all crammed together and had decent spacing between each table area. The staff were also fantastic. Definitely will be back. Only suggestion would be to add a creamy garlic prawns add on, that would be amazing!

Staying at the motor in attached and thought I’d better check out the tavern outside my room, boy was that no mistake, their black duck smoker menu is unbeatable, I’ve been here 2 nights now and both meals have been unreal! First night I had the beef cheek and tonight I had the ribs. So soft, tender and succulent, if I had room I’d be having seconds! This place is well worth a visit! I know why ill be in Emerald next time I’m in the Capricorn area

I almost always come to the boon when in Emerald. Definitely a fav of mine and a crowd pleaser- very good menu. Extensive options. But they can get very busy and once of twice there might be issues with the food. Generally a 4.5/5. Recently going through renovation and it's just very dark inside 😕 hopefully the outfoor area opens soon!
